KAMAHONG, a phenomenon caused by the sudden rise of the water’s temperature, usually occurs during the rainy season and triggers the rise of sulfuric acid that eventually lowers the dissolved oxygen in the lakes' waters. It led to a massive fish kill in Lake Sebu last January 10, 2021. Widely known for their best tasting tilapia in Region XII SOCCSKSARGEN, this catastrophe won't suffice the craving of the consumers but will also empty the tables of the tilapia farmers for months.
